About the Author
Sven H. Danielsen sluttførte sivilingeniørstudiet i telekommunikasjon ved NTNU i 1986. Etter ti år med industriell forskning og utvikling på kommunikasjonssystemer i Norge, Sverige og Sveits tok han en doktorgrad i telekommunikasjon i 1996. I 1998 var Sven med på å etablere Universal Telecommunication Systems, en spin-off fra Telenor. Som daglig leder (1998-2002) var hans viktigste oppgave å planlegge og gjennomføre virksomhetens nasjonale og internasjonale salgsstrategi. Gjennom et konsulentoppdrag for Telenor ble Sven introdusert for Six Sigma. Svens entusiastiske oppdagelse av «Six Sigma» i 2002 førte til en ny retning i hans videre profesjonelle utvikling. Heretter ble hans sentrale fokuseringsområde kurs og rådgivning i Six Sigma, og senere Lean. I dag bruker Sven mye tid til å utvikle kunnskapen om "hva en virksomhet må gjøre for å produsere resultater i verdensklasse". Kunnskapen om dette utvikles i dialog med flinke og meget kompetente ledere i ulike bransjer. Resultatene av utvikingsarbeidet brukes til å gjøre Lean- og Lean Six Sigma-kursene bedre.

"This is the first book I have seen that takes a fairly stat-heavy approach to trading in-game tennis. It explains in detail the single most important concept in tennis betting -- relative hold and break percentages, which are used both pre-game and in-play for pricing. The author spends a great deal of time analyzing situations in-play that may have market inefficiencies. For example, how does a player do when facing a break-point at 0-40, compared to 0-30? Or how does a player's play change when up or down a set? It also gives a lot of practical tips on the execution of trading. This book gets a lot of things right. If you read, understand and apply the contents of this book, you are likely to win (and at least not lose) betting in-play tennis.;I have one criticism of the author's analysis. In many examples where stats are provided, the analysis is not robust. He does not consider how two samples he is comparing should be different in a vacuum. For example, the author defines a group of women's servers as "bad", and the group holds serve 56.6% of the time. When a bad server is serving to stay in a set (e.g., down 4-5) the serve hold rate drops to 54.9%. The author concludes that laying a bad server in such a situation may be advantageous. A better analysis would have estimated the bad server hold rate in that situation (given the player is down a game, that player on average is slightly worse than the opponent, and would be expected to have a slightly lower service hold rate for all games in the match, and not just that particular situation). This omission of conditional groups occurs throughout the entire book.;Despite my criticism of one methodological problem, this is well written and no other book out there comes close to covering this topic as well as this book. I was in the first class of para medics in the state of Kansas, and at that time the Barefoot Doctors manual was seeing its first acceptance. The book (barefoot )is the finest emergency bandaging reference ever put together and is still an incredible resource for anyone in emergency medicine. In disasters you rather quickly run out of supplies and then are forced to improvise.I honestly didnt think much of the accupuncture section in the book until one sunday afternoon i jumped out of a pickup and cracked a bone in my heel. Treatment of that type of injury is pretty simple, bandage, elevation ice rest etc. managing the pain is something else -so after aspirin knocked the leading edge off i went to the Barefoot Doctors manual and with a grand sense of superiority read my first close look at auricular accupressure ... there on the top of the ear clearly visible is a spot which the Chinese believed would stop pain at the source i needed. I used a ballpoint pens clicker and applied pressure to the spot and it was a revelation as the pain simply switched off.The oriental approach to medicine is that the body pretty well heals itself if it can be made aware of the problem, we think we can heal the body with medicines that point out what needs to be done, the Chinese have a huge pharmacopia of wild plants , but the aaproach to waking the bodies healing is My own revelation happened in 1979 and ive used it ever since to stop joint pain and discomfort, its still not widely accepted in our "enlightened" culture but should be. the brief coverage in Barefoot is simply eclipsed by this manual. its better organized has a clear concept and ability to specialize in it treatment, Auricular Accupuncture is actually accu pressure -its non invasive, not painful and should be in everyones prepper hoard.Auriculotherapy Manual: Chinese and Western...is well worth the expense , its a great teaching tool that expands the uses of the totally non invasive therapy. My wife is a Wholistic Wellness Practitioner and this is one of her favorite books. I hesitated when I saw the price, but got it for her anyway. (After all, a happy wife is a happy life.) and I am very glad I did. She uses it constantly. It is thorough, complete, easy to understand and use, and has both the European and Oriental systems (points and also meridians). It came with a great chart. Highly recommended for anyone who is more than just a dabbler.

This is a fabulous book. I don't know of any other source for auriculotherapy acupuncture that is so accurate and so detailed. Not only does it provide spot-on locations for ear points, but it teaches the learner how to properly locate points in the ear. It is also FILLED with wonderful point prescriptions that go far and beyond any other source I have ever seen. For my patients who are afraid of body acupuncture, I will sometimes use this book instead.Since ear acupuncture is so directly related to cerebral activity, if a patient presents a symptoms that I know the neurological connection to, I will often refer to this book to locate the area of the brain that correlates. It's often a pleasant surprise how effectively this works. If I ever lost this book, I'd replace it immediately.

This is a fantastic textbook, with fascinating introductory sections, many useful graphics explaining different acupressure microsystems (not just of the ear), and lots and lots of ear charts related to many different ailments for quick lookup. I'm very glad I own this, know I will be referring to it often.
